Newton: About Us
TAPinto.net is an all-online independent local newspaper covering more than sixty towns in New Jersey and New York. It was founded by New Providence, New Jersey residents Michael and Lauryn Shapiro. Over 3,900,000 absolute unique users have read TAPinto.net during the past year.
Reporter Danielle Francisco has been resided in Newton with her family for all of her 23 years. She attended Newton's public schools and graduated from Seton Hall University in 2013 with a BA degree in Journalism with a minor in writing.
In addition to covering Newton's Town Council and Board of Education and Planning Board meetings, school and local events and high school and recreation sports, Danielle works at Nisvoccia LLC as a Wealth Management Assistant.
Danielle is also an orange belt in Issynru Karate.
Publisher Jennifer Dericks graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University with a BA in Communications; Public Relations and Advertising. She publishes TAP into Sparta as well.
Since moving to Sparta with her husband and four sons 14 years ago, Jennifer Dericks has been a tireless volunteer. She has held leadership positions in boy scouts and Sparta High School PSTO where she coordinates the Senior Academic Awards Dinner and Alumni Brunch. Jennifer was founding member of the Sparta Education Foundation. As Chairwoman of the GOTV committee she helped lead the community to approve the referendum to rebuild the high school. She was a founding member of the Sparta Education Foundation. During her term on the Sparta Board of Education she spent a year as Vice President and two as President, during which time she oversaw the reconstruction of Sparta High School.
Jennifer has also been a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor for 10 years teaching privately and for the Sparta Recreation Department. She is a Deacon and served as a Sunday School teacher at Packanack Community Church in Wayne where she grew up.
