PARAMUS, N.J. — Gentlemen, start your engines, and may the best woman win.

Fans of Rupaul’s Drag Race can experience a dozen of their favorite divas from the Emmy Award-winning television show from Acid Betty to Violet Chachki take to the stage outside the Garden State Plaza in Paramus for a live theatrical experience — all from the comfort of your cars. The two-day summer concert series “Drive N’ Drag,” presented by Voss Events, will take place from July 17 through the 19th.

July’s summer concert series is part of Voss Events’ “Werq the World Tour,” which is presented at large theaters and arenas every summer. However, according to the show’s producer, Brandon Voss, instead of being canceled in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s being moved outdoors so fans can still be entertained by their favorite and outrageously amusing drag queens.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

“A pandemic won't keep our queens from ruling the stage,” said Voss in a press release. “The drag show must go on!"

Paramus is one of several locations selected to stage the series before Los Angeles and Chicago among others to be announced.

Attendees can expect Jumbotron screens and sound pumped outside from the stage and through every vehicle via FM transmitters for the ultimate experience. Multiple shows will run all that weekend from noon to 11 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Gourmet Food Trucks. Early birds can enjoy a Drag Brunch with a special brunch menu.

The ticket price to Drag N’ Drive is $50 per car for two people. Additional passengers are $10 each. VIP ticket holders can snag a spot closest to the stage for $100 per spot. VIP seats are limited to 100 people. General admission spots will be assigned upon arrival.
