BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- Many homes like to put up elaborate decorations for major holidays.  One Lakewood Drive resident has taken it a step further.  For some time, James Joanow has been known in Bloomfield for his unique displays that involve mannequins, lights and many other props that keep your eyes busy and your curiosity piqued.

When the stay at home order was imposed in March, Joanow constructed a tribute to essential and front line workers on his lawn.  He dressed up mannequins in firefighter, police and medical garb and it attracted onlookers from all over northern New Jersey.  That display can be seen by clicking

As a follow up to the essential worker display, Joanow has repurposed the mannequins and has created an explosion of patriotism with each life sized doll wearing red, white and blue outfits and other USA themed accoutrements. According to Joanow, the display now features 10 mannequins and the property is covered in thousands of lights. "The railing leading to the front door is covered in over 1000 red lights and when it gets darker out I have tiki torches around the property that I light up."  The display is still evolving as Joanow has bigger plans. "I have multiple CDs of patriotic music playing and within the next week I am setting the 2 final mannequins up on the lawn."

The front yard display can be found at 226 Lakewood Drive in Bloomfield.  It's yet to be revealed what will follow this theme but you can bet that Joanow is already working on something new.
