MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville resident and New Jersey Housewife Melissa Gorga will be participating in a telethon to raise awareness and funds for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF).
Hip New Jersey and News 12+ will be joining together on Sunday, May 31 at 8 p.m. to air the one-hour telethon, called Hip New Jersey Stays Home, billed as bringing together big-hearted New Jerseyans with one common goal: to support NJPRF in helping New Jersey organizations who are providing essential services and aiding those on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.
One hundred percent of donations raised from Hip New Jersey Stays Home will go directly to the NJPRF and help in the battle against the pandemic’s impact on New Jersey, according to a release from Hip New Jersey.
“We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and commitment of the Hip New Jersey team,” said New Jersey first lady and NJPRF founder Tammy Murphy. “The money raised from this benefit show will help address the urgent needs of our community, both now and in the weeks and months ahead as we continue fighting this pandemic.”
Telethon appearances will also include Bobbi Brown, Daniel Jones, David Burke, Golden Tate, Vic DiBitetto, Vincent Curatola and George Oliphant.
Musical performances will include Constantine Maroulis and Kimberley Locke of American Idol, David Bryan of Bon Jovi, Garden State Radio, The Happy Fits, Williams Honor, The Benjamins, The Nerds, Jim Babjak of The Smithereens, Marco Benevento and Eliza Neals.
New Jersey-based businesses, medical care workers, municipalities, students, and non-profit organizations will recount their personal pandemic stories and how they navigated through adversity.
“Hip New Jersey Stays Home will entertain and inspire viewers as the Garden State looks to reopen and rebuild,” said Hip New Jersey co-creators, Maria Falzo and Lisa Marie Latino. “We are excited to spotlight the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund on our News 12+ platform.”
Hip New Jersey Stays Home will air exclusively on News 12+, which is available around New Jersey on Optimum 61 and Verizon Fios 530. The show will also stream live on Hip New Jersey’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
