BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - VFW Post 6259 hosted a town barbecue on Saturday with food and live music on a beautiful late summer day. The fund-raising barbecue was to help raise money for building and property maintenance.

With the recent 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the timely barbecue has brought the community together to support and honor the veterans that have served the nation.

VFW Post Commander Al Campora and the VFW volunteers tended to the barbecue pits preparing the hamburgers and hot dogs.

The crowd was steady with the Mayor and council members enjoying the company that filled the picnic tables in the back and side parking lot at the post. 50/50 tickets were sold and door prize winners were called throughout the day.

Campora was more than happy to host this outdoor community event for the second time during this pandemic. The VFW is passionate about the support they provide to the Lyons VA Hospital and helping veterans in need.  This barbecue serves as a major fundraiser for the post, and the outpouring of support is appreciated.
