MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ -- 'Cheers to 125 Years" kicked off the first of three 125th Anniversary celebrations in the Borough of Mountainside. The sold out Gala, which was held at the Springfield Hilton Garden Inn, drew 350 guests to the Feb. 21, cocktail reception.
Councilwomen Deanna Andre and Rachel Pater head up the three events, each of which will have its own chair people. The Gala Chairwomen were Jeanie Ruban and Cathy Jakositz, who executed the event with care and attention to detail. Committee Members were: Julie Demarco, Jennifer Doll, Chrissy Kiesewetter, Andi Hoy, Michelle Monaghan, Christina Nixon, Susan Patterson, Gina Perrotta and Diane Roman.
The Spinners spun the tunes, drawing many to the floor to dance the night away.

The Mountainside Newcomers were out in full force with over 40 members in attendance.
Beautiful Mountainside was well represented as well, with a table of 10.

A mix of young and old Mountainside residents mingled, chatting with friends and neighbors, using the occasion to catch up. A number of residents suggested this could be a yearly event.
Mountainside businesses gave generously when asked. Delicious desserts were donated from Prince's Farm Stand, Mazzella's Gourmet Market, Bovellas Bakery Cafe, Stage House Tavern, Echo Tap & Grille, The Bake Zone, Mosaico, Spanish Tavern and Famous Daves Bar-B-Que.
Beautiful floral Donations were donated from: Christoffers Flowers & Gifts and Millburn Florist.

With the Gala in the books, residents can look forward to two more Mountainside 125th Anniversary events -- one in June, the other in September.
