ROXBURY, NJ - As social distancing continues, Roxbury Public Library (RPL) continues to offer inspiration through virtual programs, curbside service as soon as the state allows, and a fun summer book bingo challenge.

In fact, the library hopes its patrons and friends will use summer to read and to learn new things.  Book Bingo encourages curiosity and exploration beyond reading a book.

This year, RPL invites adults to explore Book Bingo in the form of fun and enriching challenges outlined on the library’s bingo card, which is available on its website.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

The first 250 people who return the card with a bingo will win a scratch off lottery ticket.  Anyone who earns bingo and returns the card by August 12 will be included in a prize drawing.

“Despite the extended closing of our physical building, the virtual library is abundant in offerings,” said Library Director Radwa Ali.  “From ebooks, and audiobook and virtual programs all chronicled on our Facebook page and even offering masks handmade by volunteers, the Roxbury Library has stood by our strong community while everyone is homebound.  Our Book Bingo for Adults is just another way we can engage with our patrons while our doors are temporarily closed.”

Book Bingo includes challenges that not only encourage reading, but also inspire adults to experiment with technology by downloading books or audiobooks, attending informational virtual programs, and watching educational videos.

The challenges are simply outlined in a brochure available at the library or via the library’s website at

“WE truly look forward to the day when we can open our doors and welcome our neighbors in, yet we hope our friends will make the most of the summer downtime by engaging with books and learning of all kinds, said Tracy Baltz, President of the Board of Trustees of Roxbury Public Library.  “Book Bingo gives us the inspiration to do just that.”
