WARREN, NJ - Authorities say the curve is flattening. Warren’s Michael Arrom posted,” Happy Easter! I learned this song for a family friend going through a difficult time. I recorded this version at sunrise this morning, thought I'd share it with you. Sending love to you all.”
Michael Arrom is a Cuban-American keyboardist whose playing has been described by multi-Grammy winner Steve Vai as "stunning" and "phenomenal". By 18, he had accompanied Keith Urban on live network television and toured the world as keyboardist for Steve Vai.
Michael set out from his New Jersey roots to advance his studies at the University of Southern California's prestigious Popular Music Program. While at USC, he studied privately with the incomparable Patrice Rushen. Michael graduated in 2017 having earned multiple honors. Michael was subsequently invited to join USC’s faculty, where he teaches the Piano Proficiency course for music majors and maintains a private keyboard teaching studio.
In addition to being a university music educator, Michael is regularly in demand as keyboardist for major label pop artists, such as Noah Cyrus and Sofia Carson. His varied portfolio of professional projects also includes composing, arranging, production, music direction, sound design, live track construction, session work, and score transcription.
Michael owes a huge debt of gratitude to the artists who have been his musical inspiration. He credits his piano chops to years of deep classical training from his Juilliard-graduate teacher, Michelle Chen-Kuo. As a young man, he was also fortunate to have found life-long mentors in David Rosenthal (Billy Joel, Enrique Iglesias, Rainbow) and Marc Swersky (Joe Cocker, Hillary Duff). While at USC, Michael learned from resident and visiting masters including Paul Jackson, Jr, Michael Boddicker, Smokey Robinson, John Mayer, John Fogerty, Mike Love, Chaka Khan, Bill Withers, Ndugu Chancler, Melissa Manchester, and Giorgio Moroder, just to name a few.
