SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Thursday reported a total of 5,581 cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, an increase of 29 cases overnight, with the death toll at 514 since the first case was reported March 8.

There are 510 COVID-19 related deaths in Somerset County. One person aged 18-29, 15 people aged 30-49, 55 people aged 50-64, 161 people aged 65-79, and 262 people over the age of 80 have died, according to statistics proved by the SCDOH as of Oct. 15.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 156 Franklin Township residents; 77 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 75 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 37 in North Plainfield; 33 in Green Brook; 14 in Watchung; 15 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 7 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.

The New Jersey Department of Health Thursday reported a total of 216,994 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 228 days ago, and a total of 14,408 deaths during that time, an increase of 6 overnight. There have been 4,070,357 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 39,038,368, including 1,100,368 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Thursday morning, with 8,174,877 cases in the United States and 222,338 deaths.
