SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- U.S. News & World Report, a top authority in education rankings, today announced its 2019 Best High Schools by Metro Area rankings and rated Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School as No. 127 among New York Metro Area public high schools.

The Union County VoTech Schools ranked highly in the survey: No. 20 Union County Magnet High School, No. 29 Academy for Information Technology (AIT), No. 45 Academy for Allied Health Sciences, and No. 93 Union County Tech. Other high ranking schools in Union County were: No. 64 Summit, No. 124 Cranford, No. 31 Westfield, No. 138 New Providence, and No. 231 Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights).
"We've heard from students, parents and school officials that they're interested in seeing how their school compares with others in the community," said Robert Morse, chief data strategist at U.S. News. "With these new rankings, residents in more than 900 metro areas nationwide can see which local schools are succeeding at educating and graduating their students."
Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School is ranked No. 50 in New Jersey and No. 1,184 in the U.S. News. National Rankings. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.
