NUTLEY, NJ -  The 2020 Nutley Board of Education election is probably going to be described as history repeating itself.

The Nutley Board of Education consists of nine elected trustees. Each serves for a three-year term resulting in an election every November. 2020 is no different. BOE trustees, Fred Scalera, Lisa Danchak-Martin, and Salvatore Ferraro are coming to the end of their three-year terms.

According to the County Clerk's office. Dancak-Martin and Ferraro filed their petitions. Scalera decided not to seek another term.

The third petition was filed by former Nutley Board of Education trustee Salvatore Balsamo. Balsamo's "day job" is that of a history teacher in another district. Hence, the "history repeating itself" phrase.

No other residents filed petitions to run.
