KENILWORTH, NJ – Democrat Linda Karlovitch survived a close call with the completion of the review from the Board of Elections. There were 22 provisional ballots left to be counted. In the race for Kenilworth mayor Kenilworth Borough attorney Frank Capece confirmed Karlovitch won with a nine-vote lead. Karlovitch lost a total of three votes from the categories vote by mail, provisional ballots, and emergency ballots. These numbers will be turned over to Joanne Rajoppi, the Union County Clerk, who will certify the vote. This in unofficial until certified. There is an option of a recount, however if this is to happen a bond needs to be posted first.
