HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – The Hillsborough Democratic Organization has endorsed Jeffrey Wright as candidate for the Township Committee election this November.
Wright ran unsuccessfully for one of two seats on the committee last year, finishing third in a field of four candidates that was separated by 214 votes.
“There is no candidate who better represents the great American values of hard work, dedication, and service to community than Jeff Wright,” said Ronald Yoder, HDO chairman. “If Hillsborough residents are looking for a fighter who will never give up on them or their families, they don’t have to look anywhere else.”
Peg Schaffer, Somerset County Democratic chairwoman, said, “Hillsborough is fortunate to have such a committed candidate as Mr. Wright. He will be an invaluable public servant who will put Hillsborough residents first in every single decision he makes.”
The campaign will be working in concert with Somerset County Freeholder, Sheriff, and New Jersey State Assembly candidates including Assemblyman and long-time Hillsborough resident, Roy Freiman.
“I am very much looking forward to being on the ballot with Jeff this November. He is a wonderful neighbor, devoted family man, a tireless worker, and I would be honored for him to represent these values on the Hillsborough Township Committee," said Freiman, D-16th.
According to Wright, the 2019 run will be, “not just a campaign, but a movement of passionate, caring residents and neighbors coming together to create a better community for their children and grandchildren.”
“My daughter will be heading into kindergarten next September. My sons recently graduated from our high school. It’s our job to look towards the future and ask ourselves what kind of Hillsborough we want to see five, ten, fifteen years down the road, because that’s the world our children will be seeing for themselves,” Wright said. “We all want to build a better world for the people we love. We have that opportunity here in Hillsborough, and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen.”
