PLAINFIELD, NJ - Plainfield's Municipal Clerk, Abubakar “AJ” Jalloh, provided information from Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi on Wednesday that nominating petitions must include a candidate's email address.
Senate Bill No. 1974, adopted in July of 2018, requires that nominating petitions must now contain a functioning email address for each candidate. Jalloh said candidates who have begun the process of completing a petition and have secured signatures should input a functioning email address on the front page of each petition.
The new petitions containing a field to affix an email address are attached, and can be obtained in the office of the City Clerk.
