Candidate statement

My name is Beverly Briggs-Lawson, and I am running for Franklin Township Mayor because I love where we live and want to maintain the uniqueness that makes us Franklin.  I have been a proud resident of Franklin Township for over 20 years, I am married to my husband Thomas and we raised 3 children here.

  • I have served in the United States Marine Corps, during Desert Storm, honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
  • Former Police Sergeant at UMDNJ
  • Currently Operations Manager at the George J. Otlowski Sr. Mental Health Center

As your Mayor, I will restore community involvement in decisions affecting our town.  I will work for quality land use, traffic solutions and respond to your concerns.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

We need fresh eyes, new ideas and better communication between our officials and our community.  If elected, I want to hear from you.  I am new to the political arena, but not to leadership roles.  I listen with an open mind before reaching a decision.  I am a quick study and committed to the best outcome.

I would truly appreciate your vote and thank you, in advance, for the privilege of representing you.  Remember once you go into that voting booth no one knows who you voted for, so don’t get caught up with voting the party line.  Choose the best person for the job.

Vote Beverly Briggs-Lawson for Franklin Township Mayor.
