ROSELLE, NJ - While the official news release has not yet been written, and most likely will not until after the new year begins, Roselle Mayor Christine Dansereau announced that she will be running in the 2019 June Primary.
Dansereau took to Facebook on Tuesday morning to make an early announcement to the community that she intends to run again for Mayor in the 2019 June Primary election.
In her post she wrote:
Dear Roselle Friends. I was going to wait to share but so many of you have been asking and I feel you deserve to know!
YES.....I WILL.....With yours and God's Blessings be running for the office of Mayor in the Spring of 2019. Thank you for your support.
According to the Dansereau, a lot of people have been asking, and she already knew that her intention is to run again, so why wait?
She said, “It’s just a soft announcement for anyone who wanted to know. Why make the people wait if they really want to know, and I have already made that decision.”
Roselle is a predominantly Democratic town since the Republican Party no longer has a Chair or Committee in the town. That makes the June Primary a very important election on the local level for Mayor and Council seats as it decides who walks into the seats in November.
Over the next few months, we will continue with all the updates as they become available.
