PORTVILLE, NY –Tuesday's elections for the mayoral and two trustee positions in the Village of Portville are uncontested.
Dr. Tony Evans is running for mayor, while Vincent Pascucci and Francisco Morales are running for trustee. All three positions are four-year terms, and all candidates received backing from both the Democratic and Republican organizations.
Evans would replace Emily Woodhead, who has served as mayor since running unopposed in 2011. Pascucci and Morales would fill the seats of trustees Gene Rogers and John Kaiser Jr.
Evans has been the executive director of the Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau since 1999. In 2017, he was elected to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation’s board of directors. He also is a mental health therapist.
Morales is the director of Military Aligned Students Program at St. Bonaventure University.
TAPinto Olean's calls to the Village of Portville on Friday and Monday were not returned. Calls to Evans’ office on Friday and Monday went directly to voicemail. Pascucci could not be reached for comment.
