John Van Vliet's June 13th article about me needs some clarification. First it is the commuter train station at the intersection of Washington Ave. and Washington St. that I would like to renovate. Originally I wanted it moved south of Wagaraw Rd. but since the Spinnelli Car lot has been sold to Rid Junk a parking garage might be hard to fit in the 5 acres of train company property. New stations have been built in Ramsey, Wood Ridge and Garfield and 2 new parking garages are under construction in Ridgewood. One of our at-large councilmen uses the Hawthorne commuter train station and does nothing to make it more appealing to home buying commuters looking to buy in Hawthorne. A commuter FRIENDLY train station is an asset to out town and property values.
