BELMAR, NJ — Main Street Donuts is serving up the ultimate four-leaf clover of sweetness for St. Patrick’s Day.

The award-winning specialty shop at 705 Main Street in Belmar has four specialty creations on its holiday menu. The Lucky Charms doughnuts is topped with the cereal loved by leprechauns, while the Samoa looks like a larger, more elaborate version of the popular Girl Scout cookie — with caramel and toasted coconut, and striped in dark chocolate. And on the simpler side, there’s the green glazed chocolate buttercream doughnut.

Rounding out the selection is Parade Day Irish Coffee Stout Donut, created by infusing the doughnut and buttercream frosting with the craft beer of the same name brewed one block away at Beach Haus Brewery. It’s the first local collaboration between three Belmar-based businesses — Main Street Donuts, Beach Haus Brewery and Turnstile Coffee, whose locally roasted beans were used to make the Irish-style beer.

MSD is always introducing new offerings that show how versatile doughnuts can be. In addition to do-cakes, doughnut walls, trees and bouquets, the shop recently expanded its menu to include breakfast doughnuts with egg, cheese and choice of sausage or bacon, doughnut ice cream sandwiches rolled in chocolate chips, homemade crumb cake and cookies.

Celebrating its one-year anniversary in January, Main Street Donuts has quickly become a rising star in the world of specialty doughnut-making. It was the winner in the “Best Donuts” category of Monmouth Health & Lifes 2018 Best of Monmouth Readers’ Choice Awards, and also  also has been featured on News 12 New Jersey , Verizon Fios 1 News and WJLP Me-TV’s “Jersey Matters.”

On Sunday, March 29, the first-ever Main Street Donuts Chase 5K and Fun Run to benefit Young Survival Coalition will be held at the Wall Township municipal complex.

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at the complex, located at 2700 Allaire Road, where a relatively flat certified race course — that includes a few quick hills — will give runners the incentive to reach the finish line, where doughnuts will be awaiting.

Families and runners of all abilities are welcome to the pet-friendly event. Every participant will receive long-sleeved face shirt and a doughnut-themed medal.

There also will be awards in both male and female categories by age, as well as a best costume contest.

All proceeds will benefit the Young Survival Coalition, a national organization dedicated to critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Funds from this event will directly help young survivors participate in a three-day, 245-mile- bike ride.
