HILLSIDE, NJ – The Community FoodBank of New Jersey hosted its Fifth Annual Chefs Tableside Dinner at The Westin Governor Morris on Thursday, October 26. Fifteen acclaimed chefs donated their time and talents to create an unforgettable culinary experience.

Due to the event sponsorship of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and support from others, the FoodBank raised more than $130,000, enough funds to provide over 390,000 meals for food insecure New Jersey families.

“Every year, the Chefs Tableside Dinner exceeds our expectations – thanks to the support of JPMorgan Chase & Co., The Westin Governor Morris, talented chefs and their teams, and generous donors,” said Debra Vizzi, President and CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “The funds raised will directly impact our hunger-relief efforts across the state, especially as we approach the holiday season.”

The one-of-a-kind event featured delicious food and silent and live auctions, all to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Thomas Ciszak, Vice President of Food & Beverage at Island Hospitality Management Inc., has been instrumental in planning the annual event since its inception. Chefs prepared unique five-course menus for tables of ten guests each. To complement the memorable meal, wine pairings were generously provided by Allied Beverage Group and Treasury Wine Estates. Happy Chef also donated custom chef coats for the talented chefs.

Students of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Food Service Training Academy, a free, 16-week culinary and life skills program run by the FoodBank, gained firsthand experience by supporting the chefs at the event.
