LIVINGSTON, NJ - Lithos Restaurant in Livingston was alive with music, food, and entertainment as it had its first Greek Night on Thursday. The event started at 9 p.m. and lasted until 2 a.m. Chris Karnessis, one of the owners of Lithos, said the idea for the event was requested by patrons in Livingston who wanted to enjoy Greek food and entertainment.
Karnessis' partner, Mike Katsoudas said, "We are very pleased with the turnout. People have already called in for the next one. Hopefully we will have it in the next two weeks and hope to establish Greek Night weekly or bi-weekly." Both Karnessis and Katsoudas greeted guests and welcomed them to Lithos Estiatorio's Greek Night.
Stavros Theodorou and his Orchestra provided a selection of Greek music favorites which was enjoyed by the patrons as they dined. The crowd was also entertained by belly dancer, Shamira, who performed an energetic selection of traditional dances to delight the crowd
Thursday's Greek Night was very popular as the restaurant and bar area were bustling. Jim Kirk of Westwood said, "We had a great dinner and the music is very invigorating. I met some wonderful people tonight. Lithos has a welcoming atmosphere." Another patron, Ernila Antona from Clifton, agreed. "I think this place is beautiful. The atmosphere and the food are excellent. It has New York style."
Lithos opened on January 16, 2012. The restaurant serves Greek appetizers and entrees to please every taste as well as fine wines and liquors. One of the waiters, Ali, commented that the "Paidakia Lithos" Lamb Chops are very popular at the restaurant as well as the "Cowboy Steak" Rib Eye dinner.
Lithos also features a delicious variety of seafood entrees including red snapper and shrimp dishes and an array of tempting desserts.
