Meet 30 Local Non-Profits at the Westfield Area Volunteer Expo Friday

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield United Fund will sponsor its third annual Westfield Area Volunteer Expo (WAVE) on Friday, Sept. 30, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring 30 local non-profit organizations offering information about volunteer opportunities.  The event  is in partnership with the Westfield Recreation Department.

I first began working in the field of children’s grief support in 1997 as a volunteer for the Rainbows program in Montclair. I’ll never forget a little girl named Elizabeth who was 10 years old when she came to Rainbows. Her father had died suddenly of a heart attack.
