Whippany Park High School Student Thurman Furda Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

WHIPPANY, NJ – Whippany High School student Thurman J. Furda, son of Steve and Chris Furda, attained the milestone rank of Eagle Scout at a special Court of Honor ceremony in Clark on July 2.  Furda, a member of Clark’s Boy Scout Troop 145, is the troop's fourth scout to reach the rank of Eagle this year.

Operation Shoebox Will Host Double Header at TD Bank Ballpark; Help Assemble Care Packages and Bid on Sports Memorabilia at a Live Auction

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Operation Shoebox New Jersey will host a packing event and sports memorabilia auction at TD Bank Ballpark, home of the Somerset Patriots, on Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31.

Saturday’s packing will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday’s auction will begin at the conclusion of the 5:05 p.m. game against the Bridgeport Bluefish.

FANWOOD, NJ -- Annmarie Kearns, Allison Roden, and Mary Catherine Stovall were recognized at the Fanwood Borough Council meeting on Monday, July 18, for earning their Girl Scouts Gold Awards.

6 Cats Dumped In Esposito Park in Clark - We NEED Your Help

WE NEED YOU! On Sunday, July 17, a man in a black PT Cruiser with lots of bumper stickers on the back was seen in broad daylight dumping six cats into Esposito Park in Clark.

He pulled up in this PT Cruiser and took out a Rubbermaid container.  Out he dumped five tiger cats and one black cat.  They were very scared.  To date, rescue has been able to find four.
