WAYNE, NJ - Under a beautiful blue sky on Friday and in the vast empty parking lot of the Willowbrook Mall, Servpro of Wayne set up a cleaning station and invited first responders to come for a free cleaning and disinfection of their vehicles. It was a show of support for those serving us on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Senior Manager of Willowbrook Retail, Nancy Barbary heard that ServPro was looking for a location, she immediately offered the mall. “It’s a very nice thing they are doing, and Willowbrook was happy to provide the space and support such good people,” she said.
John Blehl, the owner of ServPro Wayne and Servpro Dover/Stillwaterwanted to do something to support first responders during this historic time.
“We’re taking care of the vehicles of the first-responders, doctors, nurses and more, just to try to make them as safe as possible,” said Blehl. “We chose to do it at no-charge because they are out there risking their lives so it’s something that we can do to help and support them.”
First-responders were invited from all over north Jersey for the free service and vehicles from many local jurisdictions took advantage.
Blehl was surprised by the interview and downplayed the event. “It’s not like we’re solving the pandemic. This was just one of the ways we could serve our first responders, who serve us every day.”
