SUMMIT, NJ - SAGE Eldercare's 'Meals on Wheels' continues to deliver hot meals Monday through Friday to homebound residents. These individuals are, especially so during the coronavirus pandemic, among most vulnerable in our community.

SAGE is following the recommendations of national, state and local officials and health agencies, taking precautions to minimize exposure and practicing social distancing. The primary consideration has been -- and always will be -- the health and safety of the 'Meals on Wheels' team, the volunteers and the participants that they serve.

Plans and protocols are in place should there be a need to alter daily delivery and possibly move to shelf-stable meals. While SAGE is extremely appreciative of community members' offers to help deliver meals, current circumstance mean that SAGE cannot accept new volunteers at this time. Those, however, that know of an older adult who may need meals -- even for a short period -- should contact SAGE as the program is still adding folks.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

The program is in need of Healthy Choice brand frozen meals and cash donations, both of which can be accepted at SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. When making a donation, call 908-273-5554 upon arrival and you will be met outside.
