BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - Bernards High School senior Jessica Snyder last month received the 2018 Youth Volunteer Award from the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance.

Snyder, a Bernardsville resident, was nominated by the Somerset Hills YMCA, a branch of Somerset County YMCA. She works with the YMCA's Saturdays in Motion program, assisting autistic children and their families. Snyder has served as a volunteer for Saturdays in Motion for the last three years.

Saturdays in Motion is a free recreational program for children on the autistic spectrum. Held twice a month at Somerset Hills YMCA, the program pairs children with teen volunteers who guide them through activities such as basketball, gymnastics and swimming.
