His son, Pablo, jacked the truck off his father and removed him from under the vehicle. First responders helicoptered him to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Two weeks later he succumbed to his injuries. His wife was holding his hands when he passed on Thursday, February 6.

Granados leaves behind his wife, Sophia, and five children, John, Oscar, Pablo, Crystal, and Michael. He came to the United States with his family from El Salvador at age eight. He is a graduate of Fort Lee High School.
