NUTLEY, NJ - After a successful morning of "canning" at the Nutley Park ShopRite, the Nutley Relay for Life "Pink Flamingos" are headed back to the store from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This morning, the team of moticated Girl Scouts raised $150 to fight cancer.
The Pink Flamingos is a group of innovative Girl Scouts who know that #CancerIsForTheBirds. Since forming a few years ago, the flamingos have raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society as a part of Nutley Relay for Life.
Instead of the usual cans, the women of the Pink Flamingos are collecting coins and bills outside of the local grocery store with purple buckets.
Several other Nutley Relay for Life teams have been canning on and off at the local supermarket all day.
