BRIDGEWATER, NJ - With summer on the way, the Bridgewater Township Council recently approved several resolutions regarding road repairs in the municipality.
The council awarded a contract at its June 6 meeting to Top Line Construction Corp. out of Somerville for $694,552 for the Garretson Road Improvement Project.
Township administrator James Naples said the township wants to get the construction on Garretson Road done when Bridgewater’s students are out of school, after the project was not accomplished in 2018.
“This is good news,” said council vice president Howard Norgalis.
The council will also explore the ability to make changes, in conjunction with the Bridgewater-Raritan board of education.
Following the council’s 4-0 vote, Councilman Allen Kurdyla remarked that Top Line had worked on the “geyser” that erupted on Vosseller Road, off Route 22, a few years ago. He recalled how water had poured from a real estate office’s driveway, which had caused flooding on Route 22, and that there may have been blockage in the area that had possibly been caused by rocks.
“It was a significant repair,” he said.
