West Orange Town Council Meeting To Begin With Conference Agenda At 6:30 pm

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Township Council is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 6:30 p.m. The 6:30 p.m. start reflects the conference portion of the agenda, and the township redevelopment attorneys from McManimon and Scotland will be on hand to update the council on Prism and the project.

At 7 p.m. the general portion of the agenda is scheduled to commence. Scheduled items include:

Use of SOR Consulting Engineers to conduct soil studies at WOHS Soriano Stadium in the amount of $4,900.00 to determine soil efficacy prior to installation of newly proposed lights.

Approval of the Shared Services contract with the West Orange Board of Education for the township to provide new turf for Lincoln Field (a two-week project expected to be completed during the summer of 2013); installation of lights in Soriano Stadium, and installation of a snack bar at WOHS between Soriano Stadium and Lincoln Field.

A resolution for attorney retention to investigate the allegations from investigators for the State of New Jersey regarding  the lease/purchase of certain equipment from GTBM for use by the township’s police vehicles. They wish to hire Edwin R. Matthews, Esq., a member of the firm of Bourne, Noll & Kenyon of Summit, for a fee of $150.00 per hour. Matthews has extensive experience in municipal law. Also a resolution to hire Bourne, Noll, & Kenyon to handle non-commercial property tax appeals on behalf of the township for one year at $2,750.00 monthly.

A resolution seeking to hire Integrated Aquatics Engineering, Inc. (“IAE”) has agreed to design the project and provide services as described in its “Proposal for Professional Services,” for a sum not to exceed $12,800.00 to design a new wading pool at the Ginny Duenkel pool.

The agenda is subject to change and not all attachments have yet been posted on the township website for review.
