ROSELAND, NJ - Mayor James Spango and the Borough of Roseland are currently seeking volunteers for the upcoming 2019 Clean Community day on Sept. 14.

"Clean Community Day is a great opportunity for our residents to gather to make our great borough even better." said Spango. "Roseland's strength is community, and this is just another great way to keep building that community"

Spango explained that some of the projects on Saturday will include cleaning up and restoring the Noecker School Nature trail, which Spango said has fallen into disrepair, and helping to clean under the overpass to Route 280 on Passaic Avenue.

Assignments will be distributed according to age and safety, according to Spango. He added that volunteers will be treated to bagels, donuts, juice and coffee and will receive a free T-shirt and other giveaways.

Spango hopes that by getting the word out early, there will be a great turnout from volunteers and participants.

"2019 Clean Community Day is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, making the need for volunteers vital to the event’s success." he said.

The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon with vilunteers gathering in the Lester C. Noecker School Parking Lot & back playground at 8:30 a.m.
