HAWTHORNE, NJ - Unusually warm temperatures for January, coupled with humidity measured at about 47%, brought a slice of spring to the borough of Hawthorne this weekend.  Heavy coats were eschewed for attire more suited for April or May and families took advantage of Goffle Brook Park for some outdoor fun and exercise, others walking or bicycling around town.

Likewise, some fine specimens of Hawthorne's local wildlife were spotted, including a Blue Heron fishing at the base of the waterfall at Arnold's Pond.

As of this writing, according to the National Weather Service, Monday is expected to be cooler, with temperatures between 43° and 32°F, and mostly cloudy.  Tuesday brings a 20% chance of rain with temperatures between 47° and 37°F.
