Milltown held its first New Jersey Clean Communities event in 2017. New Jersey Clean Communities events are made possible by the Clean Communities Act, which was passed in 1986. The act is an all-inclusive, liter reduction program that is aimed at cleaning up towns throughout the state. It is administered by the Clean Communities Council that also overseas other statewide cleanup endeavors like the Adopt-a-Beach and Adopt-a-Highway programs.

The Milltown Borough Hall is located at 39 Washington Avenue.
