PISCATAWAY, NJ - After four consecutive days of no change in the coronavirus numbers for Piscataway, Middlesex County health officials are reporting one new positive COVID-19 case on Tuesday. 

The new case brings the total to 840 Piscataway residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.  No additional information regarding the new case was provided. The reported death toll remains at 34 for the township.

There are 16,474 positive cases in Middlesex County and 1,085 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.

New Jersey has recorded a total of 167,426 positive cases of COVID-19 since the first hospitalization 105 days ago, and 12,727 deaths, an increase of 51 overnight, according to Tuesday's update from the State Department of Health.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant in following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Jersey, and public health officials when it comes to social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting common areas. These are the best ways to reduce the rapid spread of the virus.
