DENVILLE, NJ – In a new ranking from Niche.com, Denville lands at No. 91 on the "2020 Best Places to Live in NJ" list.
Princeton and Princeton Junction claimed the first two spots. The top 10 included: Upper Montclair (No. 3), Ridgewood (No. 4), Mountain Lakes (No. 5), Princeton Meadows (No. 6), Springdale (No. 7), Monmouth Junction (No. 8), Westfield (No. 9) and New Providence (No. 10). The total list ranked 417 towns and included other municipalities without a listed ranking.
Niche.com's ranking, which is based on public data sets and millions of reviews, graded Denville an A overall with an A+ for families; an A for public schools, outdoors, and health and fitness; a B+ for crime, safety and nightlife; and a B for housing, diversity and commute.
"Our data scientists and user researchers rigorously analyze data and user opinions to assess the key aspects of K-12 schools, colleges, and places to live," the website states. "Every month, millions of students and families use the Niche grades and report cards to find the right school or neighborhood."
Niche listed the population of Denville at 16,667 with a median home value of $404,300 and 16 percent renting.
