BRIDGEHAMPTON, N.Y. — The Hampton Classic Horse Show, one of the country’s biggest and most prestigious equestrian events, has joined forces with Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows to offer a new $5,000 Mane ‘n Tail Hunter Rider Challenge.

A $5,000 cash prize will be awarded to the rider who accumulates the most points in open hunter classes, 3’6” and higher, at the 2019 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows (May 7-12 and May 14–19) and the 44th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show, Aug. 25 to Sept. 1 in Bridgehampton, N.Y.

Riders will receive points for their best finish in each over fences class, regardless of which horse they are riding. Points will be awarded for the rider’s actual placing (for example, if one rider finishes first and third, the fourth place rider will still receive the points assigned to fourth place even though no points for third will be awarded). Riders who are tied in any class will each receive the points assigned to that placing. The Challenge is open to all riders and no entry fee is required.
