LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — This year, the Lake Placid Horse Shows (LPHS) celebrate 50 years as a premier stop on the national show jumping tour. Recognizing this, US Equestrian (USEF) has designated the Lake Placid Horse Shows as a "USEF Heritage Competition."

The Lake Placid Horse Shows, Sponsored by Bainbridge Farms, LLC and Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, will host some of the biggest names in the sport for two weeks of world-class hunter-jumper competition in the historic Olympic town of Lake Placid, N.Y., June 25-July 7.

Designation as a US Equestrian Heritage Competition is reserved for select group of exceptional competitions that meet several key criteria:

They have been established for a long period of time;

They have made substantial contributions toward the development and promotion of the sport, both within the sport and with the broader community; and

They achieve, maintain and promote the equestrian ideals of sportsmanship and competition.

Kessler, President of the USEF. "With this designation, Lake Placid has joined an elite group of US Equestrian licensed shows.  We wish you all the best in continuing to run an exceptional horse show."

"We are so grateful to the riders, trainers, owners, sponsors and spectators who have supported our shows over the past five decades!"

Held at the meticulously landscaped North Elba Showgrounds in Lake Placid and surrounded by breathtaking views of the Adirondack Mountains, the Lake Placid Horse Shows host more than 100 classes of competition each week during its two weeks of competition. Classes are offered in four show rings for riders of all ages and levels. The horse shows award more than $560,000 in prize money. Spectators have the opportunity to watch some of the nation's best horses and riders, ranging from young children on polished ponies, to glistening hunters, to Olympic veterans with their grand prix athletes.

The Lake Placid Horse Show, June 25-30, is highlighted by the $100,000 Prevost Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix on Sunday, June 30. The I Love New York Horse Show follows on July 2-7, with highlights including the $100,000 Great American Insurance Group Grand Prix Presented by Aon and the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Presented by Eastern Hay & Grain and Purina Animal Nutrition on Sunday, July 7.

The LPHS shows are part of the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Awards Program and the EQUUS Foundation Best Performance Competition. The LPHS also features classes that are part of the Hollow Brook Wealth Management Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, North American League (NAL) and Washington International Horse Show (WIHS). Each show is USEF 'Premier' rated for hunters and 6* rated for Jumpers.

In addition to its world-class competition, the LPHS offers superb shopping in the boutique vendor area. Local Adirondack artists, products, clothing and apparel are featured, as well as real estate, photography, a variety of equine related shops, a booth with official Lake Placid Horse Shows commemorative sportswear, and an assortment of dining options with culinary delights. A variety of special events also take place throughout the horse shows that are entertaining for the whole family. The LPHS features the Juliam Farm Leadline Class during week one, while week two features the longstanding traditions of Horse Club Junior Day and the highly popular Doggie Costume Contest sponsored by Lake Placid Lodge.
