Online Auction of Coolers Donated By McLain Ward Benefits Omega Horse Rescue

Coolers awarded to McLain Ward’s top horses over the years are being auctioned off online to benefit Omega Horse Rescue Fund.

The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is organizing the auctions through it website.

An auction that ended on Nov. 15 and included the American Invitational championship cooler awarded to Sapphire in 2008, raised $2,300.

Frank Carper, Long-time Horse Auctioneer Passes Away

GENNSBURG, Ky. — Frank Carper, who operated the Camelot Auction died on Oct. 22, 2017. He was 80 and had been battling cancer.

Carper sold horses at his weekly auction in Cranbury, N.J. until retiring at the end of 2014 and moving to Kentucky.

For the five years prior to his retirement, Carper allowed rescue groups to network horses at risk for shipping to slaughter over the Internet.
