CHESTER CO., Pa. — A private farm in Chester County has been placed under quarantine by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Health according to the Equine Disease Communications Center.

The affected horse remains at the farm and had not left the premises for at least three weeks before becoming ill. The horse was immediately placed in isolation.

All other horses on the premises are being monitored for clinical signs of EHV-1 infection and bio-security precautions have been implemented to prevent the spread of the virus.
