CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — The deadline for Horses and Humans Research Foundation (HHRF)’s Research Grant Challenge has been extended.

An anonymous donor posed the $25,000 challenge. If the collective matching support raised equals $25,000 there will be a new, HHRF research grant in 2019 at the $50,000 level.

Robust, rigorous, and replicable scholarly research is imperative to the field of equine assisted activities and therapy. Consequently, HHRF’s mission is persisting, in the face of luddites, to raise funding in support of horse-human research. The numerous challenges facing healthcare today demand evidence-based solutions, and demand it today.

Horses and Humans Research Foundation was established over a decade ago and today is proud to continue to be recognized as the leading Foundation committed to supporting research into the horse’s ability to help humans heal and also provide mutual benefits in return. Without continued support, HHRF could not achieve its goal of ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to the most current research findings for integration into the delivery of all state-of-the-art equine-assisted therapies.

HHRF funded a recent study at Slippery Rock University on benefits of horseback riding for children and young adults on the autism spectrum.
