RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Team Velvet, which provides non-mounted horse therapy for children who have experienced trauma and loss, will hold a “Silly Halloween” fundraiser on Oct. 22, at Journey's End Farm.
The farm is located at 79 Old Clinton Road. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m.
There will be equine art by Patty Paige, music by Chris Burton, face painting, pumpkin decorating, refreshments, a silent auction and the therapy horses will be dressed in costumes.
Pets are not allowed on the farm.
Admission is $20 per car load and is tax deductible.
Nonmounted equine facilitated mental health is a form of interactive psychotherapy designed to increase the resiliency of children in overcoming trauma or adjustment difficulties. It may involve a psychologist, child, parent, and/or horse handler at any given time working with a therapy horse to facilitate the child’s clinical learning.
