NEW YORK, N.Y. — GallopNYC hosted its Annual Ride with Pride Horse Show, June 22 and 23 at Prospect Park's Bowling Green and GallopNYC Sunrise Stables.
On Saturday, June 22, riders from GallopNYC’s Therapeutic Riding Program attended the "Ride with Pride Horse Show" in Prospect Park's historic Bowling Green. Riders demonstrated their abilities and the skills they mastered through GallopNYC's weekly therapeutic riding lessons.
Honorary Judges who included elected officials, equestrians, and GallopNYC supporters presented each Ride with Pride Horse Show participant with a Championship Blue Ribbon. A team of Goldman Sachs Teamworks Volunteers supported the event by sidewalking, helping riders mount and dismount, face painting, and leading games.
The midday speaking program featured several special awards including the Richmond Agbesi Memorial Volunteer Service Award to Kathleen Evers. The Lesson Superstar Awards went to Melissa Heide and Kimberly Fritschy. And GallopNYC's new Builder Awards were presented to Tim Callahan, Clinton Kershaw, Alicia Kershaw, Brian Kittle, Sean Mansfield, Geri Mazzarelli, and Tim Zietara.
The Ride with Pride Horse Show continued with a fun-filled day of riding demonstrations, games, and celebration at GallopNYC Sunrise Stables on Sunday, June 23.
“The Ride with Pride Horse Show is a very special time where we celebrate our riders, and let them show off just how much they have accomplished,” said Interim Executive Director James Wilson.
