New York, NY—Two bank robberies occurred on the East Side yesterday, with police officers from the 19th Precinct, with help from the NYPD’s Bike Unit, making an arrest of one known suspect.

According to police, the first gunpoint bank robbery occurred at around 1 p.m. at a Chase branch at 103 East 125th Street, Park Avenue. Then, about an hour later, police were alerted to a gunpoint robbery of another Chase branch at 147 East 86th Street, Lexington Avenue.

According to the 19th Precinct’s Twitter handle, a bike unit from NYPD Patrol Borough Manhattan North, spotted the suspect after the robbery at East 86th Street, and along with 19th Precinct officers, arrested the suspect and recovered a fireman.
