NUTLEY, NJ - The fifth anniversary of the landmark U.S Supreme Court decision guaranteeing the fundamental right to marriage equality was commemorated in chalk in Nutley's Memorial Park during Nutley Pride's "Chalk It Up To Love" event on June 26.

The artist, Cass McKinney is a rising junior at Nutley High School. McKinney has been very involved in art since the second grade and works primarily in digital mediums. Her ambition is to go into animation.

She chose to commemorate tthe Supreme Court's decision in tthe case of Obergefell v. Hodges on June 26, 2015. The Supreme Court of the United States ruled that that the l right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples by both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Since 2016,  has been the only locally owned news organization serving the Township of Nutley, and is a member of the New Jersey Press Association. The Nutley Board of Commissioners first named the township's 'Official Electronic News Source' in 2019.
