PATERSON, NJ - A Newark man stands accused of using a Wi-Fi access point in Paterson to distribute child pornography via the internet.
According to Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crime Against Children Task Force received information from the National Center about the man’s actions and launched an investigation into the alleged activity.
The report continues that during the investigation detectives obtained additional images and video files of child pornography stored in the suspect’s internet based photo account and subsequently were able to identify him as Eleazar Maldonado-Martinez, 27.
After locating Maldonado-Martinez at his place of employment, Poultry Market in Newark, and receiving the man’s consent to search his cell phone, detectives are said to have found additional images of child pornography on it.
The suspect was arrested and transported to Passaic County Jail where he awaits a hearing on four counts related to the possession and distribution of the images.
