BAYONNE, NJ - "All it takes is a dollar and a dream," the lottery commercials once stated. Unfortunately for one man, the dollar, or more than $2300 of them, were missing.

Already incarcerated in Essex County Jail for similar thefts in multiple municipalities, Antonio J. Matteo was arrested by members of the Bayonne Police Detective Bureau for his role in the thefts of lottery tickets from three local business during the month of January.

According to Lt. Eric Amato, Matteo was identified in thefts that took place on Jan. 14 at The Corner Store II, Jan. 21 at Broadway Care Pharmacy, and on Jan 25 at Broadway Deli. The report stated that in total the suspect fled the businesses with a total of $2363 worth of lotter tickets without paying for them.
