BUFFALO, NY – An Olean man pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge, U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday.
Jacob Tunison, 30, pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. The charge carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Wei Xiang, who is handling the case, said that in November of 2018, Tunison used Facebook to communicate with a female who was under 16 years. The defendant sent numerous lewd images of himself to the minor and solicited the minor to produce and send various images of herself to him, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Cuba Police Department, under the direction of Chief Dustin Burch, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Jamestown Office, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Gary Loeffert.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. before Arcara.
