PATERSON, NJ - A 46-year-old Paterson man was arrested on Tuesday when two members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrant Squad recognized him while patrolling the area of Hamilton Street and Paterson Street.

According to Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, the two detectives observed Corey L. Nero who had three outstanding active Passaic County Superior Court Criminal Warrants for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).

While Nero was placed under arrest immediately, Berdnik said, a search revealed a “big bulge on the right side of his sweatpants pocket” which led to the discovery of 47 blue baggies of suspected crack-cocaine, six orange baggies of suspected crack cocaine, and 93 glassines of suspected heroin.
