WESTFIELD, NJ — The town of Westfield has been named in a new civil complaint filed by Tarta Luna Properties, LLC, regarding 115 Elm St., the building housing Addams Tavern, Councilman Sam Della Fera told the town council during its conference meeting Tuesday night.

“There had been litigation ongoing for some time that, as we know, delayed the opening of Addams Tavern,” Della Fera, who chairs the code review and town property committee, said. “The landlord has now commenced new litigation that also names, for the first time, the town of Westfield. So the landlord has unfortunately has chosen to sue not only Addams Tavern but also the town of Westfield.”

Details of the litigation were discussed in a private session, but publicly Della Fera added, “It’s unfortunate because I think Addams Tavern has been wildly successful. And the town will vigorously defend itself in that matter.”

More information will be published as it becomes available.
