SURF CITY, NJ — Wednesday morning, the Surf City Police Department received multiple reports of thefts from vehicles that occurred during the overnight hours.

"All vehicles that were targeted were left unlocked," police said, "we are asking residents and visitors who were in town overnight to please check their vehicles and report any thefts to us at 609-494-8121."

Reports of theft have come in from all over Surf City and was not specific to any street or area.

Those with security cameras and smart doorbells are encouraged to check them for motion/activity and report anything suspicious to the Surf City Police Department.

Additionally, police are reminding all residents and visitors to remove valuables from your vehicle when leaving it unattended (or hide them if you can’t), always lock your vehicles (whether they’re parked on your property or the street) and always lock your home doors.
