NEWARK, NJ - A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Tramaine Dedmon, 20, of Plainfield, who is wanted for an aggravated assault in an incident that occurred on Wednesday, according to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., 1st Precinct officers responded to a Central Ward residence on a call of a man pointing a firearm at a woman he knows following a quarrel. The suspect, Tremaine Dedmon, also known as Tramaine Williams, fled on foot toward Montgomery Street.
Detectives investigating this incident have identified Dedmon as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of Aggravated Assault.
While police are actively searching for Dedmon, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets. He is described as 5’6” tall and 140 lbs. he has a medium brown complexion with black hair and brown eyes. Dedmon was last seen wearing a black sweat suit, tan boots, blue du-rag and black hat. He also has a bandage over one eye.
